What about the Love's in Nashville
-
Pretty much most of PILOTS, FLYING J, TA AND SERVICE AREAS IN NORTHEAST.Truckermania Thanks this.

So there was parking.
Ya i run that area frequently. But unless it's the middle of the day i don't even think about stopping at any of those truck stops on. I wait until after 80/94 split, or stop before the merge.Truckermania Thanks this. -
What about the T/A next door. I’ve spent an hour trying to get into the back row of reserved parking at that place.Truckermania Thanks this.

Pilot, Braselton, GA. Yikes!

As have I. I actually pulled quite a few 34s there (and I've yet to rememeber why). I rememeber that Country Pride then (this was somewhere in the 2012-2014 timeframe) having some of the better food I had out OTR. But this is about parking...yeah that place was always a treasure to get into and out of. I tried my best to park on that front row closest to the building just so I wouldn't get blocked in (i had that happen way too many times, both at the J in Texarkana AR and the one off 244 north, I believe, of Tulsa OK. Never again).
Someone mentioned the Franklin OH Pilot, x36 off I-75 up north of Cincinnati. The front row was fine...but that back row? Hoo boy. And of course me dragging around a 10'2" spread 48 skateboard...let's just say I got real good at using that dump valve switch. Kinda had to!
I won't even comment on that little half-a-Pilot outside Roanoke (Troutville)...
...Some of these places I've never been to, so I got to looking some of them up on Google Maps. Good gosh...that Tacoma Loves and the Haines City FL Pilot looks tight just from satellite view! I don't anticipate going near either one...ever...but if I do I'll know in advance not to stop there. Or the Charlotte NC Pilot...reminds me too much of the Pilot over here on the west side of Nashville. (The Loves here, if you can get a space up front, you should be straight...but if you gotta get into that back lot, well good luck. The lines are far enough apart but the maneuver room into them is something else.) Then of course there's that "treasure" of a TA across from downtown...many of you already know this, but if you've not been through here before and plan on 34ing here during NFL season, a/ get in there EARLY, b/ pray there's a spot up front closer to 24, and c/ do NOT park anywhere in the back...the entire back half of that lot gets blocked off--and whatever trucks are in there get either kicked out or towed out--to make room for extrs parking for the Titans' games. (I've heard many truckers take the establishment to task over this issue, some going so far as to contact Metro about it--but at the end of the day the almighty tourist dollar wins out and now that Gray Line has set up shop across the street from the rear exit, which used to function as overflow parking, if you get kicked out you might be screwed. (That said, I do know of a good couple areas trucks can park around this town without being hassled, some somewhat close to downtown.)
And of course I got lots of laughs and memories out of some of the others mentioned (Pilot Nitro WV is a prime example, as is the Winchester VA J). Can't say I miss all that mess.48Packard and Truckermania Thank this. -
