Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

Oh sure, but I doubt if these were available on a US truck at that time.

Never had any issue with the elliptical spring. Always reminded me of Olympic track athelete that shot his girlfriend!

 

Big radiators , and exterior air cleaners. Also everyone has transmission oil coolers....... and no dopey wheel farings.

 

Bought this truck new in '79, 20 Front, 50 Eaton's locked in Low Range, 3406 ,10 X 4 Trans. The only weak part was the RT 480 Suspension.

 

Where was that taken?

 

Bed sure looks close to cab in this picture. Zooming on in on the front drive looks like New Way air ride.

 

This one is for sale in Netherlands. So looks like air ride on first drive, then back tandem Is Mack camelback. 17, 000 GBP . You would look good in this @Caesar.

 

Round abouts would be no problem.....

On a side note, I betcha that truck didn't leave the factory a tri drive. I've never seen air ride mixed with walking beam type suspension on any tri drive before (and I see probably 20+ tri drives a day).
