Why do so many Americans hate European trucks?

I would even chip in on lettering in red that said, "Make America Great Again"

 

Put that slogan on a bug deflector and put it on the hood!

Personally I'd put mitre cut pipes on it and modern stainless aircleaners on it though.

Thought it looked like the kind of terrain one would see in BC. I swear I saw that photo posted on another forum I frequent.

Prepare yourself for a huge disappointment....

This truck once belonged to the same company as the ones I showed. The owner even opened a Mack dealership! However, the company was taken over by another company called Dusseldorp, and they certainly didn't want the Macks.

I looked at the specifications of that hugely impressive Mack, but those are not very impressive. Three 8 tonne rear axles, and one 9 tonne steer axle, that makes a total of just 33 tonne or 73,000 lbs. The engine has just 224 HP, so not very impressive either. However, it is a 1979 chassis, so that may explain the very low powered engine.

Dusseldorp replaced the Macks with these:



The Ginaf 10 x 8 X-5450S. May not look as impressive as the Mack, but technically it is a 60 tonne truck, so almost twice as heavy as the Mack. Since the maximum weight of a truck is 50 tonne in the Netherlands, it is officially classified as a 50 tonne truck. And before I forget, of the five axles, four are steer axles.
