This is what is on the block plate. On the plate it says Serial Number: MXS08, Arrangement Number: 260-2815, Bottom of plate says... (ALWAYS GIVE ALL NUMBERS) MADE IN USA 3N3790 12, also it has on the casting the number 222-1874 (or could be 1974 but the bottom of the 8/9 loops up like an 8), then under this cast number is -6-

Using MXS08000 just for reference it was built in nov of 2004. Your engine would be built sometime after that. Still need the last 3 of the serial number to get an accurate date. There should be or once was a tag on the valve cover base, one on the oil cooler and then a serial number stamped into the block below #5 manifold. Probably would have to buff away the paint to find it. What kind of truck is it? If it is a pete/kw I can get the engine serial number from the last 6 of the truck serial number.

The truck isn't known, it is just the block I was going to build but not if it is a 2004 because I need to legally run the truck in my fleet as bare as I can to tweak this system I came up with. I think I'll just get an old 3406 and try it 1st. I am planning a Diesel/HHO Hybrid build. We want to try an old engine that we can continue tweaking up more HHO and less diesel. I have mastered it in gasoline engines and increased mileage by 8-12 mpg. I got a small GM diesel 6.2 truck running on it and get 22-25 miles to the gallon of gas when it used to only get about 10 miles to the gallon at best. It works better with the engines with the least smog control crap. Funny part is a 1960's slant or flathead 6 popper fitted with my system puts out less smog than a modern 4 cylinder engine.

I am wondering if an old 3406B will mount up to replace a 2004 C15?

Yes it will. Not without some work though. Manual throttle linkage will have to be installed. Engine fan re wired. Engine fan/shroud mods possible. Pluming the air, coolant, fuel, exhaust. Anything can be done, just depends how much time and money you want to spend. Drop in, no. But can it be done? Yes

Thanks for the reply. W ill the existing mounts be the same? I believe the engine blocks are about the same so do the mounts fit? I know wiring will change, computer will go bye bye, The 2004 is a T2000 that had a C15. I am wanting the older style engine to use as a test truck to turn into HHO/Diesel hybrid. I want to run this cross country through every kind of pull from flat to mountain terrain.

The mounts should be the same. Still by no means a quick thing to do. You will have to fabricate a mechanical pedal as I don't think the T2000s were around during the B blocks.

    kcbrunette and SAR Thank this.
