So, now that I think I am all that and a bag of chips, since I have a start date for MTI, those of you that have been through the school, is there anything you wish you would he studied before going to MTI? Like maybe pre-trip youtube videos? If so, recommend some of the better ones to watch.
Airmech and Steelersjunkie Thank this. -
Im not sure about the pre trip videos but whatever you do DO NOT watch youtube videos on how to back the truck/trailer. Just go into school "blind" basically as far as maneuvering the vehicle and you'll be better off. Bill is an excellent instructor and been doing this awhile he will get you ready for everything. Just read thru your states manual for the pre trip and try getting as familiar with the terms as possible. Idk how they are in Ohio regarding the tests, but @Steelersjunkie should be able to help you there.FalconsFan21, BazookaJoe, Steelersjunkie and 1 other person Thank this.

I agree 100% with @keen98 I wouldn't bother with backing videos or anything like that. Bill is amazing. If he can take an idiot like me and turn me into a trucker, he can help anyone. I would definitely recommend the following video though. Bill is the one who showed it to me, and it's incredibly helpful. It's a two part video on the pre-trip, and I passed that portion of my test specifically because of this video.
It's very thorough and very well done. Also, the test in Ohio is different than the test in Wisconsin. It's more expensive but it's definitely easier. Jamie is a good dude and extremely patient. Hope the video helps. I must have watched it 100 times before I took the test. Memorize it and you'll pass with flying colors, I guarantee it.Airmech, FalconsFan21, olddogdon and 1 other person Thank this. -

To clarify Trucker Who went back to driving a dump truck. He's got some new videos last I had seen.
Waterboy334 and Steelersjunkie Thank this. -
The thing with me, is I learned a long time ago that the willingness to prepare, is far better than the willingness to just achieve.
I set goals for myself and this venture into trucking is no different for me. I don't just want to be average. I want and will become a top tier driver and my dispatcher is going to realize very soon that I am one to depend on and one that he/she will never hear me complain.
Here as I pat myself on the back, I don't want to sound arrogant, but success to me is measured by how my peers view me. Have a good evening all.dhellmer Thanks this. -
Tell Opie you will only do beer loads, that way you will have enough room in the trailer to strap your smoker in with the load

Something with less smoke more and more of a sauce, preferably baby back ribs, which I never had much luck running into down there where brisket seems to be king. Generally I like the type of stuff you find in the less than stellar parts of town.
My issue with the BBQ I've had in Texas is that all it is is smoke. Granted I haven't had boatloads of it but every time I have that's all I really taste out of it. -
There ya go. Get a permanent spot on the triangle. The miles would be awesome
