Mine is on all the time. I drive a 2016 Pete, the Jake has a slight delay in kicking on when I let off the throttle so it never kicks on when I'm shifting unlike a few trucks I've driven kick on emediatly.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Not meaning to change the subject but loud jakes never really bothered me that much. What bothered me the most was reefer haulers that would not get their reefers fixed after the dang belt starts slapping metal. OR a guy who's tractor has a defect in the air tank release system. Dang things pop off every other minute. I was parked at a truck stop in Nevada a few years before I retired. A shafer driver was in there with a bad reefer. i actually contacted someone I knew at Crete gave them the location and truck/trailer number of the truck. About an hour later a mechanic came woke the driver up and fixed the #### reefer. Pure laziness at work here.Highway Sailor and jammer910Z Thank this.

Those that leave it on all the time are you in an auto? Try shifting a dd15 with jakes on and you'll grind every one
Pumpkin Oval Head and gentleroger Thank this. -
I used to work at a place, that was in the middle of a long hill, the end being an ethanol plant. One farmer had a t600, no idea what was under the hood, but he had straight pipes on it. He would start down the hill in probably 3rd gear, and just let the pipes roar. This happened about 3-4 times a week., until the city put up signs prohibiting the use of engine brakes.Pumpkin Oval Head and Gunner75 Thank this.
