Coming from a professional standpoint - not a drivers standpoint.
Typically transportation companies will restrict a 90 day probationary period on the passenger program.
Aside from learning about what kind of driver you are (being new to a company)
Simply put...When you have a passenger, it can distract you from performing your job safely...which poses a liability risk.
In addition to that, these policies may be put in place, directly from their insurance company.

I know that professional drivers see "driving" as their lifestyle and undoubtedly take offence when they aren't able to have someone they love ride along with them.
What I can tell you, is that the decision to enforce policies such as these, are not there to personally attack you or discourage you from being a part of their team.
Business is business, if exceptions were made for one person. Then it is only fair, that the privileged extends to the entire fleet.

Take it easy, my health isn't doing well, I got my pins adjusted and still in a lot of pain, oh and do you think I can get some pain killers?

Nope limited to 10 a week, two days worth with the amount of pain I have.

At May Trucking you can take your spouse even as a new driver. I think it's around $25 a month.

i do believe that was the standard fee a driver had to pay out of pocket.

and some companies limit passengers to the warmer seasons, and not at all in winter.

and the passenger had to be a family member, not your friends neighbors 3rd time removed ex husband's mother-in-law's son's grand child's best friend, that has a gimpy dog and a tailless cat....named Nemo.

its there company there truck there rules there not breaking any laws and your choices are quite simple wait the 2 months which pass by so quickly you'll be with your wife in no time or leave the company and find one that don't have the 2 month rule by the time you do find another company I reckon your 2 months will have expired anyway.
