@98989 I apologise, but this a white 80000 lb fleet Pete with 2010 emissions, but I thought I would snap couple pics when I replace a injector. All cooling packages were updated in 08 models. Bigger rad, 11 blade fans, engine mounted shrouds that help air flow better. This just on/off fan, but have been going to two speeds. Pretty good gap at the firewall and lots of additional heat shield and wraps. Cab sits pretty high over transmission.

At least its a "real" engine. Biggest I work on these days are 6L or less it seems.Oxbow Thanks this.

Pure Aluminium is FCC (face centered cube) while steel(pure) is BCC(body centered cube at normal temp(fcc on high temp), this is reason why steel become fragile at low temp, below minus 30C. But at normal temp steel is stronger than aluminium, especially aluminium becomes fatigue under very short amount of dinamic cycles.

Hard to see in picture, but youcan see the erosion lines at the injector to supply tube taper with magnifying glass pretty well.
