How are drivers making 100 grand a year when the pay is only about $21.00 bucks an hour? Even with tons of overtime, that number is impossible.
I'm open to being enlightened here if I'm wrong. -
2 year old thread. But you could before ELD. Linehaul not P&D. I did a 586 mile run 5 days a week. I was getting 17 hrs a week for drop & hook, shop time, fueling, and wait time. Run paid 2930 x .53 =1556 a week plus hourly 200-300 a week. Average was 1700-1900 a week. Holland guys worked the dock also. I didn’t at Reddaway. You could run 6 days a week with only a 34 hr restart and make that kind of money. Denver to SLC paid 540 miles. You do it 6 times it paid 3240 miles which is $1717 a week with no hourly. But 100-200 a week in hourly was easy. That would be 3 lays downs which gets you 35 a week in just layover pay. Fueling drop and hook wait time shop time it would easily make 100-200 week. A guy was doing this as extraboard #1. He was doing this for 15 years or more at one of our terminals. I couldn’t do it cause it was a burn out in my eyes but the turn I was on I was on pace for 90-100k before my run got cut.already gone Thanks this.
