Hi, I am very new to trucking. Something I've always thought about. I am changing my career path, Ive beeen a pediatric dentist for 20 years. I want to be out on the road. Where would you start if you could do it over again. I see schools; Swift, England, CRST. Is this a good way to get introduced into trucking?
Changing careers, going into trucking from dentistry.

WTF!
Obviously you've built yourself a handsome nestegg, and would just like to get out and see the country?
Give us a little to go on here. You would be doing yourself a disservice by using any of the companies you mentioned.
Going to a community college is probably the best way to get you CDL; IMHO.
Good Luck! -

why are those companies a bad way to go?

Seriously a little more information on your current situation would help tremendously.

Let’s put it this way, if you are a dentist now then you would probably be the only driver with teeth.Surfer Joe, De Trucker, buddyd157 and 3 others Thank this.

Do yourself a favor, if you don't need the income immediately, go to a community college to get your CDL. You don't want to be beholden to the companies you mentioned in the first post. They WILL take advantage of the financial leverage they have over you.MagnumaMoose Thanks this.
