The ECM is programmed as multi torque. It limits the engine till usually around 35 or so. If you plug in another speed sensor your right no codes but also it doesn't think the truck is moving so it will be gutless in the top 2 gears

    mhyn and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

You have one of those tires with built in snow cables. I hear they're expensive.

This is not the case with the program my set up has but I wouldn’t know for sure because I can’t test it because that would be illegal.
But in the end it’s not worth considering since even with out a mileage gain in about ten seconds you can go in to the eld and see a nice bread crumb trail of every where the truck has been.
But it has been fun playing with it .. I mean thinking about it.

Oh I'm a thinking somebody will figure a way out, and it will be incredibly sneaky, if they haven't already, but I just can't see that info being posted on the Internet.

@Hulld, you ever seen the safety pass pro? You can run miles while the truck is setting still, and you can adjust the speed to whatever you want. It’s meant to bypass the governor so you can pass equally governed trucks and get back over. It plugs into the speed sensor on the tail shaft. You can sit still and gain mileage, but it would depend on what all parameters your Elog displayed during a thorough inspection if it flagged it. Most DOT wouldn’t catch it I don’t think.

I like to build and modify all sorts of mechanical things as a hobby.
It has given me years of entertainment.
As far as the eld goes I am dead set against them.
With that being said the way my long haul operation works they are not much of a hindrance for me because I have zero detention tine and super flexible pick up and delivery times.
If I had to deal with detention time it would be a whole different story.
