Wednesday at the end of the day Iogged out and as I was exiting the cab, I noticed that I left the window down a little. I turned the key one click and put up the window then turned the key off and left. Thursday I came in at 3 am and logged on and I find that when I turned the key to put up the window, I was logged back in an was now in violation for On Duty and 30 min break. Dispatch starts at 8 am to fix it and by that time, I hit an open weigh station in NY and troopers roving and clocking all over I-84. Fun dayLast edited: Apr 13, 2018

How will they get money off of us then?IluvCATS Thanks this.

What ELD do you have? I have same problem with Bigroad. If I run my window up or down all the way it will interfere with ELD.Lepton1 Thanks this.

Except if they don't match up perfectly you'll be cited for dual logging or falsification is what I was told.

They won’t match. The reason that I do paper is that the ELD powers off and on 50 times a day and puts me on duty while I’m driving. After a while it puts me in driving mode until it powers down again. I’d like to see them figure out that graph. The one thing that stays accurate is the location of each phantom change of dutyLepton1 Thanks this.

It a Garmin POS model. The window wasn’t the problem, it was turning the key on and supplying power to the POSSnailexpress Thanks this.

But if you ask the ELD guys they all say it's our fault for not getting on board until the last minute.
They are profiting on their product that we have to have but their products are absolute Sheeet.KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I had the rand McNally for two days and it kept freezing and locking up and brought it back. Been running the F-ELD 20 for a few months and seems to be ok. I’ve been DOT inspected a few times with it and when told to email my logs to their site during the inspection they went through but it was all jibberish. The funny thing was the inspectors didn’t know if it was a problem on their end or my end and they let it go. They said they were having problems with their system too. It seemed like the older inspectors are annoyed about the whole ELD thing since their not as computer literate as the new young bucks recently hired here in NY. The freshly badged DOT cops are the ones with a million questions questioning you like a prison guard would question a prisoner. It’s always the little short ugly ones with the biggest attitudes. Little man syndrome with a badge and gun looking to show off . I still run a paper log in case the ELD crashes. I was questioned on that too by a little man with a new badge , who was probably working at McDonald’s a year ago. I told him it’s impossible to accurately re create my last 7 days of activity from memory or paperwork and I didn’t want to “guess “ and falsify my log. I asked him if he remembered what he had for lunch 7 days ago ? He left it at that. The ELD s have driven up rates , but they still suck.
KB3MMX, Doing_flatbed_nc and Lepton1 Thank this.
