The companies paying by the hour have almost no turnover rate and have a stack of applicants to chose from when they hire,I wonder why? the rest of the companies have a upwards of 90% turnover. I know there are exceptions to this but it's not the norm.
TheyCallMeDave and okiedokie Thank this. -

I work for a company that pays hourly. From the time we start our pretrip to the time we shut down in the evening we get paid. If I work 5 days a week and stay around home then my lowest pay is $1,200 gross for a 40 hour week. If I do long haul and stay out more than 7 days then it can get up to $2,600 per week gross, but I haven't done the long haul since this time last year. Anything over 40 is 1.5 and Sundays is double time. I'm also expected to fix the truck if any issues arise.
magoo68, murat, KANSAS TRANSIT and 2 others Thank this. -
I probably would have stayed a company driver if I had worked for a company like that and avoid the stress of Owner Operator.
My uncle works for a by the hour pay company and the driver with the least senority there has worked there for 10 years. -
I'm on year 11 with them myself. The most senior driver has 46 years in.
murat Thanks this. -
