I tried patching one with tire plugs to get to the shop to buy a new one. I can tell you that did not work

It helps if they are diminutive, Dutch, young and male.

Just guessing that it WOULD be difficult for you to catch a leaking airbag!

On a cab bag that was leaking at the bend where flexes. I once adj. the leveling valve letting air out until the hole was up against the piston. Cab air bags have such a low psi, this worked for about a week until I got home to replace it. The leak was slowed to almost nothing.

I was having fun with it.

Ive had bad bags before. The truck usually does not do well when one or more go down.

The variety of suggestions here on the thread are all good ones. Mine were not the best.

Sometimes I would think we will go back to the old days of spring ride where checking those are easy. The hangers and the metal itself.

Me too. This is strong enough to patch an air line for a temporary fix.

Regarding air bags, cab or otherwise, if the exterior is starting to form cracking on the surface, then replace them. I learned that lesson last year getting loaded to maximum weight with pipe. As they set the last layer on top an explosion every bit as loud as a truck tire explosion went off at the rear of the trailer. An air bag blew out. I called road service to replace it before moving out of the yard. The technician looked at all the air bags and noted how crispy the bags looked. First thing I did after buying the trailer was replace all the other air bags.
