It goes both ways. OTR want OTR experience, local wants local experience. We ran tandem dumps and dump trailers at my company in Ga and they HATED hiring OTR drivers. We'd get guys with 15 yrs. OTR and my boss would have the trainer ride with them 1-2 weeks. This wasn't just dump training, he wanted them re-trained on how to drive a truck lol. The boss taught me how to drive and got me my CDL so I did training for about a year. I just loved riding with 60 yr. old men who have been driving longer than I've been alive (I'm 24) and telling them how they needed to drive our trucks. Talk about awkward.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Local experience=NO Experience?!?
