That is true.
The year is just the repayment schedule. If you do not mind paying more of your own money, and less reimbursement, you can leave before.
Also, there is an option to put your safety bonus toward payment. This will cut months off of your payments and even when your portion is paid, they will keep giving you there part. I did this on my refresher.
I noticed that nobody gave you the list of terminal locations.
Fontana CA, you know.
Salt Lake City UT
Conley GA (Atlanta)
Irving TX (Dallas) will be closing after football season, I am not sure where they are moving it too. Not a true terminal anymore, just school, drop yard, shop.
Henderson CO. (Denver) Not much there, drop yard, Shop.
That is it. Dispatching is done out of Fontana, SLC, Conley. I believe they need to stop it out of Fontana, they have always been bad. Really bad about giving too many miles to possibly run legal, and that will not work with paperless logs.
SLC and Conley have rooms and showers. Irving has showers, but they are gross. Henderson has no driver facilitys.
They have drop yards everywhere. I do not know half of them. One in just about every major area we haul too.
Spelling will be off on a few of these. But off the top of my head, ones I went to allot in the east. Greely SC, Columbus OH, Cleveland OH, Kansas City KS, Chicago IL, one in PA, cannot remember town (mind blank)....and many many more. I live in the south west corner of NY, so these were ones I saw allot. There are several more, just in this region. Just cannot remember the citys/ towns. They also use Central Freight drop yards. There are several of those in TX I have been too, and in Baton Rouge, New Orleans ect. I am not sure anyone knows where they all are lol.

Yes but if you leave before a yr you must pay the 3000 dollars back to the school correct <>? I dont look to job hop just trying to look out for myself Thank You for all your posts they are alot of help Be safe out there

You will be required to pay back whatever the balance is when you leave.
If you owe 3000, then yes, if they and you have started repayment, then whatever is left.
The good thing is that you do not sign a non-compete contract, or a contract saying you will stay for a year. It is just one saying you will pay back the loan, and it is a no interest loan.
So if you stay, do your time with a trainer, and solo 3 months, you will have paid 3 months worth of the loan off. You leave, go to Martin, or whoever, that will take new drivers with 3 months OTR. You will owe about 75% of the loan still. They may hold your last check toward it, and you will owe whatever is left.
I am not sure if they will hold the last one or not, but I would basically bank on it.
Still, you will have received some training, gotten some exp. And you can now move if you wish.
I would wait for 6 months personally, gives you a better chance in this market of getting a better company. Though Martin is a better company, and I think they only require 3 months. They can be more picky now though, there are allot of experienced drivers looking for jobs. I also would not count time with a trainer as OTR time, it is training time. Some company's may accept it, but many will not. -
Thanks 4 all your help I dont wanna job hop I have never been 1 to do this yet there is a chance you may not like a company

Hey there,
I'm slated for the Oct 5th class in Fontana, I was wondering how your year has gone since posting here? I'm excitedly nervous and looking for more information to clam my nerves before packing up for school. How did training go for you, did you receive alot of miles throughout the year, and how did driving for Central Ref. work out for you?
Rick -
I just signed my paper work for Central on Friday. Your right, you can leave any time. However, to get them to pay the 2/3 of the class fee you have to stay there 12 months (time starts when your assigned a truck).
If you leave before the 12 months, you have to pay the balance out standing on the cost of the school.
