Guy I know had a mini van seat bolted to a air ride base. Talk about nice!

So did I lol.
On topic though I have yet to find a seat in a light vehicle that is actually comfortable. -
Car seats adapt just fine...
Oops...wrong kind of car seat.
With a welder and some miscellaneous flat and angle steel, you can adapt pretty much any seat to any application. The mid-back fixed-back non-air-ride seat from the jump seat I adapted to an air-ride base and drove sitting on that for a good 5 or 6 years before finally buying another new seat. A friend got a good deal on some seats for his foxbody Mustang that came out of a Honda, and we made them work without much trouble. I've also got a 40/20/40 split bench out of a 2013 Chevy that as soon as I replace the foam and get them reupholstered, will be adapting them to replace the 1-piece bench seat in my '96 Ford.
