Truck stops with tight parking

Someone mentioned that TA south of Jacksonville, but didn't mention the Pilot across the street with all blindside parking.
Then there's the filthy Loves in Ormond Beach, FL. As if it wasn't bad enough, they kick out all the trucks for Bike Week. Loyal customer? F.U. One-timers who won't set foot in a Loves the rest of the year? Come on in and enjoy our filthy facilities.
Other notable mentions; Pilot in Byron, Ga. Pilot in Georgetown, KY (the small one with the McD's). Loves on US69 in OK in Cheauteau and Atoka. Pilot in Upper Sandusky, OH.

 

That loves in Ormond beach. I was sitting in line waiting for fuel and some idiot backed right into me.

 

I've had a couple of close calls there, myself. That place is always crazy. There are just so few places to stop in that area, it stays super busy.

 

Flying j Gulfort,Ms,saw a oversize get his hood ripped off one night,he was pissed.

 

I parked there once for the night but got there very early and squeezed into a gap. Other than the apparent drop lot for ABF, I think there may have been 4 of us parked there, no more room. The restaurant up in the hotel was fantastic though and the hotel in general looked very nice. I always wanted to go back and eat there but figured I’d never find a parking spot so didn’t bother

I parked there one time and could not get out of my spot. I had to wake up about 7 guys at midnight

 

Lots of places exist that are like that. (still using layout designs for shorter trucks long since gone) Converting at least one segment there to an angled setup would help.

But these angled setups have their own sets of problems, especially when there set up to allow 2 trucks per slot. Not everybody goes in far enough or some go in too far. Plus, if they don't have wide enough aisles, they're a problem to back out of. Without forcing drivers to park a certain way, there's going to be problems with all setups except for single pull throughs (if you could keep some yahoos from going in the wrong way)



I would have preferred they did these lines the opposite way they did them and tried to encourage everybody to sight side back in ... like with painted arrows moving traffic in a set direction

 

Has drums,pa been mentioned? The danm lot is a hot mess. The design for it to be split in middle with a busy street makes even scaleing a nightmare
