a friend of mine bought a 98 W900 tall sleeper last fall for his son to run
flatbed only. combination local / roadwork
    60 series Detroit
last quarter of 17 ifta miles were 7.3 mpg
he did the first quarter for 2018 on Saturday morning and texted me 8.41..
I know his son isn't light on the fuel peddle either

he has a 2007 daycab that he drives which is an international with a C15 Cat and can only muster 6.1 mpg from that

I think you'll be disappointed. IMO, a T8 wont be appreciably better in your application than a 379 with the same engine. Any fuel savings will have to come from the engine, gearing and driver.

I decided to go with 2009 kw t660 with bad Cummins engine , engine will be pulled out and c16 installed after complete overhaul . Undecided yet wether keep 13 or go with 18

Fuel mileage worries and your solution was a C16?

I heard different opinions on n14 and decided to go this route due to aerodynamic truck , engine will be overhauled with marine cams , performance manifold , turbo , tune and exhaust . I believe combined with aero truck I should get decent mpg , reliable truck and good resale in future

My experience is drivers use all the power (fuel) you give them. Curious why you think a sloped hood and fairings will help MPG’s on a car hauler

This will be my truck , I have just one driver at the moment and don't plan hiring in near future . Truck won't be used as a car hauler , it will be flat/step/lowbow ( undecided yet ) .

Good spec.. Need to keep eyes on frame. Older KW with 8 rear air bag suspension had issues with frame cracking at front leaf spring hanger!
