1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

:pottytrain2:Good question RECON,and good answer rocknroll.I have been researching this myself, you can never have too much info.

Try yellow pages and superpages websites, you get a lot of results and you can narrow your search down to what kind of companies you are looking for.

Google FMCSA and you can get a lot of info on any carrier in the SAFER WEB section. It tells you where all the carriers are located, number of trucks and drivers, miles driven, safety violations, equipment violations, etc. It even shows every DOT inspection for the last 30 months for any company.

Last night I was on this forum, can't remember which thread, but I think it was dance4u69,or roadtoad who lived in Mississippi and they subscribed to newspaper ads,for free, for all the counties in the state.I would like to find out how to do that, wish I would have asked last night.I know it was on this forum.

You can contact the trucking ###'n for the state of Michigan for starters. Go online at look at Transport Topics, it might have something for you, go online at start out with Michigan based trucking companies. Churchill of Detroit is one you might start out with. Gainey Transportation, Whiteline, are TL carriers. If you are in the Detroit area or close to the border of a surrounding state you might also look at carriers in cities close to where you are but across the line. Do you want TL, LTL or what?

I typically google "michigan trucking company". This will normally give a listing for fleet directory and click on that then check out the companies. This is a good way to find local companies not listed here. Many of them do not have websites but you can call and ask them anything you want. hope that helps.
