I started with May, like I said somewhere else they are good to start..if I had to do it over I would start with them..get your experience and move on. Not much incentive their to keep senior drivers it seems..you will stay out 3 to 4 weeks minimum and get good OTR experience..see a lot of the NW in the winter..good equipment..good luck!

Thanks man! Yep I knuckled it down to Werner or May, leaning more towards Werner because of higher pay, but May has better reviews. I dont know who to trust!! *shrugs

May starts you at 36cpm..after a year it goes to 40cpm . They will keep you moving most of the time with longer runs..if you live in the south you will prob be out of Lebanon tn or pensacola fl. Your will usually avg 2500 to 3200 miles a week. You will get to see most of the 48 except Maine. Almost always western wide open space driving. Winters are brutal. Between Werner or May I would go with May from just what I have heard about them.

Schneider. I start with them beginning of June. You don't have to do Jet set. Go dedicated or regional. Go to the Schneiderjobs site and type in your zip to see what other SNI positions there are. Don't just take the one they offer you through email or flyer. These mega companies are only for a year anyway. It's going to be rocky no matter who you start with for that first year. Schneider recruiters are pretty friendly too and have been very patient with me. As for May Trucking, went to their orientation but wasn't impressed with their yard or a few personnel so I left before being hired on. Might be a different experience for you.

remember MOST jobs are being offered by commission paid sales people. that's all a recruiter is, a salesperson. if they hook, line, and sinker..... they get a nice healthy bonus. they will lie, cheat and B.S. YOU. however, its pretty much like that everywhere. my boss wont lie to you as bad as a commissioned recruiter, but he still will only tell you some half truths. while he is not on commission, in the end he has the same agenda...... put butts in the seats. if you want to drive, im sorry but that's the why this industry is. its pretty much universal with all trucking companies, in some way shape or form.

It's all up to you, don't feel guilty about making a choise if you are starting out. However, do keep in mind that the number one thing at Werner AB accounts is safety and G.O.A.L. is fully encouraged. We have had million miles drivers get into accidents when road conditions aren't good, and in the end, it's just beer, no need to kill yourself or someone else because of it.
