It pulls ok. I just think it struggles to get going sometimes. He said part of the reason why they were told to do it. Cummins said it would help the engine last longer. I know I’m not a mechanic, but wouldn’t it seem to make it work harder limiting the horsepower like that? Oh well. Just thought it was interesting. Lol

You’re right about it taking longer to get wound up. My 2015 would get up and move compared to the new ones. Granted, that was with me shifting when I wanted and also into which gear I wanted, at the rpm of my choosing. Lol.
I’m with ya on thinking it would strain everything more, but I reckon the Cummins people know more than me.bigcat1124 and Crusader66 Thank this. -
I picked up in Oxnard, CA this morning. 1st time there. It’s another one of the few where we scale light/heavy at a small truck stop 3 miles away. I scaled, went down and loaded, and when I went to get my heavy weight I was 81,240 lbs. Drove back to the plant (have to anyways to get your BOL) and they took some off. They had me back around behind the building and brought a forklift out carrying a pallet with four 55 gallon barrels lined with plastic bags. They said each one would hold about 400 lbs. They just sat each one under my tank valve and hooked up a stainless elbow, filled up each barrel just like you’d do a cup under a facet. Went back to scale again and was 79,820. That was the first time I can ever remember being loaded overweight at IRT. I’m hauling strawberry purée.

You were right about the no shorts here in Auburndale. We have several trucks here, plus a yard jockey. Must be one of our bigger accounts. Getting loaded now.

Cool. It says on my dispatch that it doesn’t pick up till Friday. If so, I’m going to grab a room down the road that have a highly reviewed lounge. Lol.Crusader66 and Tanker_82 Thank this.

When I left home in OKC last Monday and dead headed down there, I started getting preplans and load assignments once I got South of San Antonio. By the time I got to Mission it had been voided and changed 2 or 3 times. First one was a drop/hook, then a live load in McAllen, then changed back to a drop/hook, etc.. I think it just depends on whoever shows up first and who has hours down there. It’s usually the flip of a coin what you get up until the time you pull in the gate.Crusader66 and bigcat1124 Thank this.

The direction your load is going usually doesn’t change, just the pick up date and time.

Sounds good to me, anything besides NE! Lol. My truck stayed at 70 mph for a day. I idled the truck for four hours. Dropped to 65 for half the day, then up to 68. Back to 65 now. I have to say I’m not a fan of this setup. Been driving a long time and never been in a program like this. Truck runs so much better at 68-70. Oh well. It is what it is. Keeping me rolling, that’s the main thing..Tanker_82, motocross25 and Crusader66 Thank this.
