You know, I agree that lease purchase success numbers aren't great, it's tough to make money with such high truck notes. You know some of the failures are on drivers too. I recently heard about this guy working for Carrier One. He would take days off work and put his truck in the shop because the Apu went out. Then if he had a good week, and he would have a take home of $2000 that week, he would stay at home until about Thursday and try to hit the home run with one load. A lot of drivers fail, LP .or their own authority, because they fail to put money back into their business...emphasis on business. They still act as though they are company drivers. They never realize that LP or staright OO makes them a business man. Another thing, so many guys go into this with no money. How can you start a business with no money? If you don't need good credit to get a truck, or you don't have to put any money down, for me, that's a red flag.

LOL I read the title and the first thing to pop into my head was "There's got to be an honest thief...somewhere"

This. I'd say 99% of failures are due to this. People are not willing to take responsibility for their own financial mistakes and find all sorts of excuses to say its not my fault. By not accepting responsibility they are not in a position to correct the bad finance habits so all they do is repeat the same mistakes with a higher income putting themselves even farther in debt with even worse credit.

Dude are you high? Despite what the ads on the back of trailers say those are no better than any of the other big lease purchase scam outfits.

They're just names; i don't think any lease deal is good. I'm sure the OP already knows that since he's been driving over 2 years.

Leased my truck separate from the carrier or I would not own it now ....
    3 years 1720 a month and 5 k down

The first year I made so much money with a small carrier that I thought I,d never leave and then fuel hit 1.00 a gallon rates went South and moving his trucks was more important than mine

Sooo moved to interstate dist Corp
Was dispatching myself and found a way to make great money and be home every other day but somewhere in that it went to hell and the got bought by heartless....

So I moved my truck again to USA truck not the best money I ever made but I needed a safe place to pay off my truck ...I did ok but as soon as I had the truck paid off I took an opportunity to get back into reefers and doubled my rate this year .
The point is if I was doing one of the lp deals no way I would have finished it . If you want to own a truck put your cards on the table and get one on your own . Through this adventure I had many friends that leased trucks stuck longer after the winds changed direction and lost thier buts , while I moved on to succeed .
In 12 years driving the only consistent thing I,ve found is change.

Lease it directly from the manufacturer with a $100 buy out at the end.

20% down and buy a truck from an individual or dealer. Save yourself from the nightmare that is L/P
