the dirt work is crazy in the bay area right now. $95 -110 an hour. Runs were only about 15 miles apart.

There is asphalt guys around me that brag they gross 95.00 per hour. There are guys with nice dumpers, but most are junk. I never liked the idea of the cost of pto's and hydrolics for 95.00 per hour.

Works out to about $2/mile average at the end of the week. It's not easy to do. Central florida is an expensive place to run with all the tolls. Trying to get out of it but not sure what else to do with the truck. Kind of what to do flatbed but other then where in leased to now or Newline transport, I don't know where look for local

There its no consistent good paying local work. Aerospace industry has good paying local loads and i eat therm up when they are available and I'm home, but just not enough of them.

Also i think you misread my previous post. 35 miles each way and 2 loads equals 140 miles. For 150 bucks. That's a 1.07 a mile. I'll gladly pay that vs spend 4 hours doing it myself.

I might have. I don't know how that works. Like I said, I average $2 and it's hard. I can't imagine less but I'm running the exact same loads as another company that's doing it for a $1 a ton less. I get a few ok days. Did a little over $900 yesterday and today. Only need $700 to be barely comfortable

@cat13 go knock on the door of some farms. You might get lucky. Use their trailers and do local delivery’s. (Not produce farms tho). I know most Nurseries around me utilize o/o’s to move their product, and the rate are much higher than general frieght.

    Dumptruck work is tough.

Do you know how to spread a load of gravel or back into a paving machine? both of those skills will help you find work.

If you do any off-road work (which most dumptrucks do) your maintenance cost will be high.
