I take it you have your own authority, getting a good dispatcher can be hard with just a few trucks. 26 foot trucks with liftgate is a plus, but sleeper must be small to meet the 40 foot total length of truck. She wasnt located in KY, was she? I had the same thing happen to me, they wanted to do something different than dispatch after 8 years. You can dispatch yourself and let the other trucks do the same, but it wont be easy. Let us know how it goes, thanks.

 

She wasn't taking enough for dispatching hotshots and letting you run under her authority. Hotshots are an unholy amount of work to dispatch as their loads pretty much have to come from a lot of different sources because loads aren't shipped with hotshots in mind. My big hotshot customer ships 2-3 loads a week and I get 75% of their business. My big flatbed customer I do 10x that in volume and I'm well under 1% of their business. There are a lot more full size loads in the world than there are hotshot loads basically.
