theres a company called tvc, they are designed to help cdl drivers in situations like this. they hve their own lawyers where the defendant doesn’t hve to show up lawyer will take care of it. im thinkin bout tht instead but im not in business relationship with them. there could be extra fee to hve them handled it on the spot. ill be calling them tomorrow see wht they can do to help me

Proper way to handle that IF the prosecutor makes you appear is to explain to them the money and effort it takes for you to do so. If he still makes you appear, and he requests a continuance, you explain to the judge that you already went to great lengths to be there AND you had discussions with the prosecutor about this very scenario. If you can lose money by appearing certainly a cop can show when he is getting paid to appear. I bet 10 to 1 the judge denies the request.tlalokay, taodnt and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

DUDE! Did you read my post? I’ve been where you are. Call the Assistant District Attorney whose number is probably on the ticket and request a trial by mail. Worst they do is say no and then you call TVC.
TVC doesn’t have their own lawyers. All they do is call a lawyer near the court. Been there done that.Last edited: May 14, 2018

this is the reason why they don't hesitate to write you up for an infringement cause they know very few will bother to fight it in court.Czar_Zero, bottomdumpin, Dave_in_AZ and 2 others Thank this.

This.
I’ve been to court in ON, NY, QC and PA. In my experience the judges and prosecutors are reasonable. It’s the cops that are lying, arrogant pricksLast edited by a moderator: May 15, 2018

....before you fork over you credit card number to TVC (I have used them) you might want to search TTR for the guy who hired them only to have the lawyer not show up in court.
Or on one of my tickets, in spite of taking my money, they never did find me a lawyer.....I was left to fight it myself.
In another instance, they did send a lawyer to trial but its a good thing I was there because he was totally ignorant of transportation law. I questioned the officer not the lawyer.
Also know they like to charge your card every month forever.
You can do the same as them by posting a message here on TTR asking for a referral in the Avoca, NY area. I have used a guy in Marcy, NY (Utica) but that’s a bit faraway from Avoca. Have also used guys in Troy and Ulster PA but not sure if they can practice in NY.Last edited: May 14, 2018
