Once you pay all the lease payments and the ballon it's yours. If it takes a year or 3 or 5,6 once all those payments are make its all yours.

Right , but it's not a lease purchase.
Its a straight lease with an option to pay the balloon at the end of the lease term.
There is no building of equity.

Ok let's put it a different way. The only equity you get is if you re lease SFI will give you trade in value for your truck. So take mine my 3 years is up in October my ballon is like 60k my value at the time will be 80 to 87k So I get that difference off the new truck. Now I have been paying an extra 300 to 400 per week for 2.5 years or about 41k in my "slush" account. So I can use that money to either pay towards the ballon at the 36 month mark or apply some or all of it towards my new truck. I don't understand why every lease person doesn't pay something ahead each week so if they get sick or a break down the slush fund will pay your payment.

Dave your not the only one that pays a little extra each week to cover down time and home time.
Some of us do it differently though.
Me , I Just have my rep do a direct debit from a bank account I have set for this.
Matter of fact my rep has several drivers that have their payments taken out from a bank account instead of off their settlement.
A couple that do a direct debit once a month ( 4 payments).

I get that. And if I decide to keep this truck I will give SFI my bank info to pay it off. To me I like the slush fund given to SFI. I can write that all of as it is a lease payment according to the IRS if they hold the funds. But I think we all know most don't set aside anything extra. We all know the raining day is coming just when and how long.

I have no I idea what most do or dont and wouldn't make an assumption. Lol.

Doesn't matter if you pay a little extra each week or do a weekly payment or make one payment a month it's still lease payments that can be wrote off.
