THIS MUST BE THE NEW ''BAND WAGON'' TO JUMP ON....WHAT'S THE PAYOFF BY THE WAY FOR JUMPING ON THE ''SAFTY BAND WAGON''?

IS THERE MORE MONEY FOR IT?
    BETTER REPUTATION?
IS IT GET YOU BETTER LOADS?
OR IS IT FASTER TO CLIMB THE CORPORATE LADDER?

WHAT IS IT.IT MUST BE A BIG PAYOFF TO GO ON THE ''SAFTY BAND WAGON''

The safest drivers are experienced drivers . As long as current conditions with large carriers cause a high turnover rate to continue things won't be much safer .

1pissedoffdriver, I hope it's not my family on the road next to you after you have been running all night on no sleep. While I agree that the states abuse the laws to generate revenue, safety should be everyone's concern. The days of the outlaw trucker are over. If you ever have an accident, and I hope you don't, see how fast they sobpoena your cell phone and fuel records to compare to your log book. There are attorneys out there that specialize in suing trucking companies.

Yep there are allot of ambulance chasers out there.... and we ask our selves why? :biggrin_25511:

Because we still got over 1,100 truckers out there driving with some level of alcohol in their systems each day. Then we add 9,300 drivers using drugs so we have over 10,400 professional drivers cruising our highways with our wife's and children. :biggrin_25510:

These drivers are not getting the rest that they need because they are stoned or hungover which inhibits the regenerating effect of sleep. :biggrin_25518:

Then you add the trucker's that are speeding and doing other things that we pay for with our huge insurance bills causing wrecks. :biggrin_2554:

This creates a huge opportunity for those bottom feeding
shysters to collect easy money off of us. :yes2557:

And who do we have to blame? :biggrin_2551:

    I guess I don't want to suggest the use of a mirror.:biggrin_25520:

You're comment reflects what I have always athought to myself, "If they only knew". As an experienced driver, it is easy to pick up on the tell-tale signs of a sleep-deprived, or impaired, driver; slowing down then speeding up repeatedly for no apparent reason, or veering. I tell friends and family that is is best to avoid driving in the vicinity of big trucks. Unfortunately, there are no easy answers to resolve this situation.
