I took my Rotti with me for several years. Very good guard dog. Barked to let me know someone was close to the truck.
If you get into a routine,.. with when to let them do their business, when to exercise and play, feeding time etc,.. they become habitual to that routine.
Other good thing about a Rotti is that they arent hyper active spastic little yappers. They only bark for a reason. They like to nap a lot and are very content to be with you where ever you are or what ever you are doing.

I'm not trying to win a dog obedience contest and I didn't ever want to see my dog run over. The leash does the job and no cop will ever write a ticket for dog unleashed in public if they are always leashed.Odin's Rabid Dog, NavigatorWife and Swiss Mountain Dog Thank this.

I met a guy loading some steel with me and he had a cat in his truck. Struck me as odd. But he said the cat was pretty content. Said he had no problem crapping or pissing in the litter box at 70 mph.
I like cats,.. but I dont think I could deal with the litter box in a sleeper. Thats just me.

You keep the dog food in the truck with you?joesmoothdog Thanks this.

I envy everyone who has a pet in the truck. I pull chemicals so pets are a no-no. Eight pups and three cats at home... and me alone on the road.

My brother wants to foist his parrot on me. She's a riot and she's an attention #####. Interested? Jeez!! Rhymes with or.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
not sure where you got that info... They bark just fine, but they don't tend to be yappy. They really are great dogs and learn fast, and don't sit and bark at every little noise.NavigatorWife Thanks this.

It's one of the few downsides to tanker. If you pull food-grade few customers will allow pets. If you pull hazmat no customers I've seen will allow pets.Just passing by and NavigatorWife Thank this.
