Hey guys I did a quick search on the forums wanted to ask and see about my particular circumstances.
So I was enjoying my memorial day weekend , was a beautiful day out and everyone was out and enjoying the weather and day.
Today was open season for the police. They were out in full force. They were making a killing today. Tickets were given like candy.
Today marked my first speeding ticket since I started driving truck.
I was out riding my motorcycle and was charged with a speeding violation.
The officer gave me a ticket for going 5 over in a 65 mph zone.
I was told I would not receive any points.
I will be contacting my company and seeing what there policy is about personal vehicle tickets and it being 5 over and no points.
I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this type of scenario and what I should expect.
It's a real bummer and a downer since I was having such a great day and just as I was almost home I ran into this trouble.
Will this still effect my insurance for truck driving?
Will a company care about this type of ticket and how many of these types of violations is tolerated?
Would there be a benefit and even success in fighting this?
Well I'm curious to hear from anyone.
Hope everyone is having a good memorial day weekend.

Hey TT88, I see were in the same woods.
I'm one mile from Mt. Airy Casino.
I also saw what you saw, plenty of PoPo.
I find it useful to find a Huckleberry doing 80, and lay in behind them. -
You should be fine.
5 over he was being a prick.
A bigger fish would have been there in 3, 2, 1,....ReeferRick, Woodys, austinmike and 3 others Thank this. -
Hire a lawyer. It will cost you some money, but they can propbly get it dismissed. Mine did. Good Luck -

That’s speaking the absolute truth!Woodys Thanks this.

Yeah that's what I was doing when I seen all those cops and people being ticketed it was one after another. I knew I should of been on my guard. Funny thing is I was doing just that and then you can guess the rest. I just decided to pass one person and little throttle on a bike is like a lightning bolt to the gas.
Glad to see some other members in my area. Maybe we'll run into each.
Yeah I'm glad there were no points involved, I'm just hoping it doesn't effect my job. That's my main concern. Now I don't even want to take the bike out till this heat that the cops are in cools down. It really bummed me out.
Hopefully this won't effect my safety standing in the company. I'd like to be on that million miles placard and be in good standing with them overall. -
Cops are on a campaign here. We have already had 40 bike deaths this year. TDOT is putting warnings on lighted signs, etc.

Any holiday, especially in the summer, you can count on law enforcement being out in force. Always use extra caution. Glad I dont drink anymore too. They zero in on that like white on rice -
Studebaker Hawk Thanks this. -
Hire one of those ticket fixing lawyers. It might cost a couple hundred but they’ll make it go away completely.
BigBob410, austinmike, Mattflat362 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Not if he was actually 11 or 15 over.DSK333 Thanks this.
