You going to keep all required paperwork in your truck? Seems easier to have a place to file that at home. Even if that home is a very small studio apartment somewhere.

If you have a home use it so you can have a tax deduction .

You already get to deduct most of your truck expenses. Why not just take the home office deduction in addition to the truck. More deductions is a good thing.

You have to have physical address to get at least IRP. Also getting paid could be a problem as most of the brokers pay with regular checks in the mail. Someone you trust must deposit those checks all the time. There probably some solution with virtual offices that could handle some of this tasks and be listed as your office address.

Staying busy all year round. Renting out house for several years, same tenants. They keep it up and clean. If I use it as office deductions it will not work because I will have to sublease some part of it from tenants. When taking off road I'm staying at hotel or girlfriend. So can I use the truck as an office?

Your Driver File must be kept at a home terminal. All your paperwork must be kept at a home terminal. DOT must be able to visit a home base to audit you. A few years back O/O would fly me to they homes and I would meet the DOT for the audit for them.

It might be possible to use your Accountant/Bookeeping Service as a Home Office. Of course the Accountant would have to be an Authorized Agent of the Company for Audits.

It also might be possible to use your Sisters as the Home Office. Send her the paperwork and have her file it and make her an Authorized Agent for Audits. Negotiate a fair wage for her services with her.
