Lot's of them now have walking trails, they incorporate streets/sidewalks in some, some are really trails.
Some you're gonna have to circle the lot.
I walk a lot. Average speed is about 18 minutes for a mile.
So if there is nothing, usually walk out about 30 or 40 minutes, then about face.
You gotta watch yourself. Pretty easy to get flattened.
This is truck driving. Creativity is a must.

At a trukk stop you will more than likely walk in squares.
-
If you're smart you'll stay away from truck stop use the rest areas the only time you will have for walking is on your 10-hour break or the hours and hours that you will have to wait at shippers and receivers but a lot of them don't allow you out of the truck
-
...walk from your truck for 15 min, walk back for 15 min, now you have done your break, go back to work.
-
What's wrong with walking laps?
-
Nothing wrong with laps other than its boring like a treadmill
-
More than likely its probably going to be a rectangle.Skytz33 Thanks this.

Google the truck stop in question and look at the sat maps. Lots of truck stops have walking trails fairly close to them. You wouldn't know they're around without looking. These are some nice trails too, many run alongside a waterway, quite, etc.
If nothing else I'll walk the parking lot before I start driving in the morning. That typically puts me out in the zero dark hours, very minimal truck traffic at that time of the morning. Carry a small flashlight for safety too. That's all I have.Skytz33 and NoBigHurry Thank this. -
I keep all eyes and ears open. Ready to bail at a moments notice in case I got some breeder rolling toward me. I've got mirrors, lights, and all that other good stuff equipped, even a car horn mounted to a small, 12v battery. Apart from a gym membership I hit every other day or more, one really has to keep an eye on their health with all the medical card garbage that could quickly put a driver in the poor house or even worse, the prison cell for being forced to resort to petty crime.

Work-a-holics of a dangerous level. Some of us have got to take the time and breath, and live some. For us single people that managed to stay out of relationships and never have any kids, it's quite easy. But for every one of us "yo-ho'ing" our way through life, there's ten other guys out there on the road that are bogged down with the child support sob stories.
Not trying to derail the thread, but just adding further reasoning for why so many drivers are the way they are.
But definitely, keep the eyes and ears open, get that reflective vest. And if anything, make note of all the truckstops or parking areas with a car-free, jog/bike path near them.
