Does anyone have details on team driving with Schneider? My girlfriend and myself are thinking about getting our CDL training through Schneider, she's going to be switching from on campus classes to online school. We both currently work for a transportation company on contract moving single non-CDL vehicles up to 26,001 lbs. She's been doing it for about 8 months, and I have been with the company for 3 years. I'm not sure if they will give us a little something extra for having OTR experience, or if what they mean by experience is driving a tractor trailer.
I apologize in advance some questions may be out of order, but I'm asking them as they come to mind.
I was told that if you get tuition reimbursement you don't get the sign on bonus. Is this true? If so does this only apply to the person seeking tuition reimbursement?
How does home time work, can we both get our home time together since we are a team?
After completing training will they send us out on the road together as a team, or will they split us up and place us with someone more experienced and later put us together?
I was told if you don't choose to accept the sign on bonus you can leave after 6 months with out owing them for the CDL training? Not that I am considering leaving before my year is up, but you just never know what's going to happen.
I am interested in running for the tanker division, how would I go about this being new to Schneider? Do they give you an option of what you want to move?

visionarygvp Thanks this. -
Apply for the position that you'd like - if you want team tanker, apply for team tanker etc.
Sign on bonus and tuition reimbursement depend on where you hire on from - the only way to get a true answer is from the recruiter.
If you're running team it's to everyone's advantage if you both take home time at the same time.
If you sign on with a team mate, you will go with that team mate.visionarygvp Thanks this. -
Do you have to run with an experienced driver to be a team? Or can both of you be inexperienced drivers and be a team?
-
Jim Palmer Trucking runs teams and has their own cdl school.
Stevens Transport runs teams and has their own cdl school. -
Do they give sign on bonuses, and tuition reimbursement? Are they out of California?
-
Neither are out of California and neither is Schneider, but all 3 companies hire California drivers/students.
Trimac Transportation has team positions and hires new cdl grads and tuition reimbursement.
Any questions about sign-on bonus you'll have to ask the recruiter at each company about that.visionarygvp Thanks this. -
Schneider I believe is in Utah, but from what I’ve seen they have training facilities in California.
-
Schneider is based and has always been based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. With facilities nationwide.......visionarygvp Thanks this.

Bring your own (smart way) or SNI will match you (dumber then horse apple way). Experience level plays no part.
