Feelin' poorly?

Honestly that's always been one of my biggest concerns diving. Dying in a truck and my family not knowing for at least a couple days. I always make sure my life insurance is paid up. I don't worry about my own death too much, but I worry about my family.

 

Was it Carbon Monoxide?

 

Condolences and RIP to the driver. Perhaps if his truck had been idling that long, he should be checked for carbon monoxide poisoning.

 

So what I gather from the post is the departed driver was over heated and passed?? I may not be following? This scares me and so does the fact I'm 300 lbs.

 

Life 360 is an app you can download from Google play store. A loved one can be connected at the other end on either a computer or phone app. You do have to have your location on phone turned on though for them to be able to follow you. It may not always be 100% accurate, but it is a lot better than nothing if something happened to you on the road. I believe a lot of relatives have found that it is not always easy to get police depts to keep an eye out or even check for a missing trucker.

 

Very sad. My condolences to this driver’s family. I’m not going to speculate about what happened, but I will mention something that I was always worried about when sleeping. Carbon Monoxide while idling, it only takes a small leak. I always kept a CO detector in the sleeper with me, they’re cheap and always put my mind at ease while sleeping while idling.

 

Seems like those "fit watches" or whatever they're called would have the ability to send a text somewhere when it detects it's being worn but no heart beat.

But no doubt there would be lots of scary false alarms.

 

I got my currrent position 22 years ago when 35 year old driver passed unexpectedly from previously unknown ailment. Anyone’s clock could stop anytime and you be the last to know

 

Having a big vehicle might make a driver feel they're in an awkward position if not sure if they need the ER or just a Clinic and how to get there. Then they might feel self doubt wondering they'll seek an expensive ambulance trip over the Flu. Or in this case, abandoning a pet as well.

It's odd there isn't a clear procedure for this. If a driver does seek care, they might not be in good shape even after treatment to drive the truck after discharge. So do they hobble out of a hospital and take a taxi to heal up in a motel on their credit card?

One time I got really sick and was able to give up my load at a terminal lot, then I bobtailed to the ER in Little Rock. They had me scheduled for gall bladder surgery the next day.
