Then perhaps you would like to explain to us how truckers who run radios have survived all these years.bottomdumpin, joshuapowell61, Gearjammin' Penguin and 6 others Thank this.

Just checked the recent calls on my phone and the last personal call was on May 26th. All the others since then were one to my company when a PITA shipper was giving me grief about an appointment time and WAY too many calls to a Freightwatch company that I had to call every time the truck was stationary for more than 5 minutes.
I think a no phone policy would actually benefit me.NavigatorWife, Cardfan89 and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
Thank goodness you're not the safety manager of a company. If you had it your way, wedw only have house phones and maps in the road lol.alds, bottomdumpin, joshuapowell61 and 1 other person Thank this.

How about pay phones out in some Amish guy’s backyard?
alds, joshuapowell61 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
I'm living proof talking on the phone got the load where it need to go. Driving at night with no phone is hell.alds, joshuapowell61, lagbrosdetmi and 2 others Thank this.

I'll never understand how any driver could stand to have his privacy violated like that.joshuapowell61 Thanks this.

Violated? It's a job on company property. It's no different than the office worker that walks into a building with cameras. For those that have sleepers, there's a curtain that can be pulled. In a day cab ... what privacy is there to be violated? Nobody likes a camera on them. But you'd call it silly if a grocery store worker complained about cameras violating their privacy while they stocked shelves. It's no different.darthanubis and brian991219 Thank this.
-
It is different because in a grocery store the camera isn't a foot from their face during the whole work shift and there isn't somebody manning the camera 24/7. It just records continously and only gets reviewed if something goes down in the store.
You can hit a bump in the road and the footage automatically goes to somebody to watch. Repeat a dozen times a day. Someone who most likely never drove a truck in their life and feel they know better than you how to do the job. Store workers don't have cameras with audio capability recording their private conversations. I can go on and on. Bottom line is that any driver who values his dignity would not agree to this crap. There are companies still out there would don't have driver facing cams. Even the bottom feeding Swift pulled them out of respect for drivers.alds, joshuapowell61, Gearjammin' Penguin and 3 others Thank this.
