No its not a privacy issue at all, its to catch you falling asleep, screwing with crap you should not be messing with going do the road. No one wants to see you exercising your unicorn going down the road besides it should be put away in the stable while your driving. If you need to pee stop and get out and hid between the trailer and your tractor and pee on the passing motorist, tip: take a towel. By the way your not suppose to use the phone (except handsfree) while driving.

If you really look at the new driver (existing ones too) you'll see the need.

How is it different? I mean I'd assume your curtains are closed when you guys go in the bunk together cuz if not I'd say you have alot more concern with whos watching in the truck stop not on thw camera. And again, when your off duty or sleeper berth cover the camera up with a hat, pc of tape, etc and noone can see whats going on between the husband wife team. I mean I guess it will prob eliminate the road head option but other than that i dont see how its any different for a solo or a team lol

Go for it man..if your all for a camera watching you in your house then so be it. I won't work for a company that has inward facing cam..outward facing..all day long I will.. Enjoy

The inside of the truck if your a company driver is not your house it is your work place, And no one will care if you will or wont work for a company with cameras, I have no problem with it its there truck, I do not do anything with there tractor or trailers that I would or would do because of a camera, and in fact when I rolled a truck 4 years ago the camera saved my butt.

You keep your inwards facing camera and I'll continue to work for someone who doesn't give 2 craps what I do as long as I don't wreck/kill someone and deliver freight on time. If I want a camera watching me all day, I'll go work at Wal Mart. No reason will ever change my mind. Glad your happy with being watched.. as for me, I didn't sign up to have boss man or some cuck watching me all day.

How did the inside facing camera.save you?? Outside facing yes. Well nobody really cares about either one of us liking or disliking cameras for that matter. This is a message board we are stating our opinions, not sure what caring has to do with it..Yea it is my house, it's their.truck and we are living in it. No cameras in here except my own gopro that faces outward

That would defeat the whole purpose of doing this job.

Don't worry about inward facing cameras. What can they see through a big booger?

I just used both inside and outside cams to get myself out of a ticket. Cop (in ND) pulls me over and says I cut him off entering a VERY busy traffic circle with lines of cars at all five entry points. I explained that I waited for a “break” in the stream of cars then, at 80k lbs with sloshing Chardonnay in the tank, I lugged out as best I could with my “standard” transmission starting in second gear. I told him that while I may have “slowed down” traffic, I didn’t cut off anybody. He says I cut HIM off, so I pointed to the front facing camera and asked if I could call to have the video retrieved for when I dispute the his claim in court.

Next... he says forget that issue, but why didn’t I stop sooner- he followed me up an entrance ramp after the circle from which I needed to merge, but I pulled over after the ramp. He says I wasn’t paying attention, and I told him I WAS paying attention to what was ahead of me and trying to merge when I saw his lights. I pointed to the inward facing camera and said I’d be showing a judge EXACTLY what I was doing.

I also said that HIS nasty, accusatory attitude was being captured, as well as my answers. He said some BS about not wanting to hurt my Cdl so he was not writing a ticket... and that I needed to be a better driver- yeah, whatever!

In this instance, they seriously saved my butt. BTW- I don’t know if that video even COULD have retrieved... but the threat of claiming so worked. Trucker 1, cop 0- whoohoo, I win!
