If they could just figure out how to get that oil pan closer to the ground so it can get smashed in they'd be selling really expensive parts.

 

Some of our older trucks and off-road trucks have a bumper made from a length of frame rail.
They're not pretty but you can hit something without damaging the truck.

 

I really miss chromed steel bumpers on cars and trucks. A freekin scratch on a bumper today can cost several hundred to get repaired, and if you damage one of the few dozen sensors under the bumper, it can cost thousands. Bumpers used to be made to "bump" things without damage to your vehicle. Those days are long gone.

 

That's what herd bumpers are for, you can run over cows and it's pretty too, the price tag makes you cringe though.

New trucks are absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt worthless JUNK that cost you money every which way because of complete and total stupidity..

 

Used to be when you hit a little something in the road like say a coon you felt a bump and that was it, now it'll take out the bumper the a.c. condenser and the radiator, at least the coon doesn't walk away after that.

 

I hit a deer last year in Oregon while driving a Cascadia. It was a glancing hit on the right side and didn't even kill the deer. Cascadia bumpers are secured on each end in 3 places by little plastic brackets and screws. Two of them broke and the part of the bumper that curves around the side was dragging the ground. I had a cordless drill with me, made a few holes through the broken bracket and zip tied them. It was stronger than it was before hitting the deer. How things are made today is just sad.

 

You can get them with out the low airdam.
