How much do you want to get paid for tarping? You tell them what it should be as part of the rate.

An O/O sets the price. If its a brokered load, you tell the broker what the rate is, they might negotiate, they might not.

Hell Im a company driver and I even set my own tarp pay.

$50 as a company driver is pretty nice for a tarp job. I can remember my time at Roehl they paid us $15 to tarp. That’s for a full load 3 tarps or a small 1 tarp load. I normally get $100-150 for normal tarp loads now. Occasionally if it’s a specialized or O. D. load it’ll go up. If I get there and it needs special accommodations I call and request we’ll DEMAND MORE $$$$$

$50 to tarp, sounds good but then you remove the tarps for free. So you are only charging $25 to tarp and$25 to remove them, roll them up and put everything away.

Depends on the o/o situation. At LS they would break out upwards of 2/3/400 dollars of the linehaul at 100%. But usually it’s just worked into the rate, not specifically “tarp” pay.

I've pulled many a load that paid $1000 to tarp and $500 to pull it. When it's a lump sum you can divy it up however you want.

Depending on the weather, it may never be enough money.
