Wonder how many of our brothers and sisters will have to die in their sleepers because of this stupid rule before they realize how dumb it truly is. Couldnt this be considered reckless endangerment especially in summer heat?

I'd gladly pay tickets until the end of time. Either give me a subsidized APU(which you guys say we can't use anyway) or let me sleep in peace. I'm not killing somebody because you think we're not humans.

I say we all boycott California.

We all knew this was coming... So what can we do? Call CARB and request an exemption. Don't know if we can get one but I bet if their phone lines are jammed for couple of days... well never mind they don't care so just what is a health emergency? No sleep, you can't have my load 'cuz I never got proper rest, You will just have to wait till when ever the weather changes. Wonder how that would go over with all the compaines. Just a thought... Just another stupid driver... me that is LOL :biggrin_25511::biggrin_2551: So just what are we to do for proper rest, get a doctors note? It's not good for my health not to sleep, and I must not drive if I don't get the proper rest period. What a fix CARB is, Yep they can have their clean air, but looks like they might starve to death before they can enjoy it...

Next thing you know truckers will be required to wear a scarlet letter T.

Summer's gonna be a ######. The other day the wind was blowing up a sand storm, that happens a lot out here in so cal, especially in the summer.

There is NO way you can rest or sleep in the cab without AC in the summer, and winter can get down to 20 at night. Very hard to stay warm.

Hubby said he'll have to run us a generator when/if we 0/0. He said companies will have to buy APU units which run about $8000. I can really see trucking co CEO's running to install them:biggrin_2552:

This may be a rumor, but I've heard that CARB is also attempting to limit APU's. in Commufornia.....OOOPS, I meant California.

Idle at night without the clearance lights on and don't answer the knock or at least state you're in the bunk and tell them to come back in 10 hours.

So why not make a CITIZENS ARREST, demand a uniformed officer come to the location and issue THEM an IDELING CITATION!!! HMMMMM???

I love the idea, but i am sure the Peoples Republic of California has similar laws to NY, which only cover "heavy duty commercial" vehicles. That gives the staties a pass on the idling law. I don't even think that municipal and state plows are governed in NY.
