It's an 855,743's had external injection lines,easily recognizable difference. And yours is a small cam with the compression release. Makes for easier starting,with low battery,cold weather.

You know i looked into it too. I’ve never seen one myself, but apparently from around ‘57 on there were 855 NH engines available. I may have seen them and just assumed them to be 743’s. That assumption thing again.Tug Toy Thanks this.

Model 25A Jake,I believe the 25B will work also.
-
Yeah and i have seen a few of the 743 engines for sale before but i have not seen as many of them as i have the 855's.
-
Okay thank you, and what model jakes fit the NTC engines because there is a NTC 350 that one of my friends has that is a bad motor but has jakes on it. Just curious if i could get that engine for cheap if the jakes would swap over.DougA Thanks this.

Look up Tech? Brake. They are Jake knock offs and sell complete kits. I have installed some with no problems. Believe they list kits with CPLs they fit or Google it. Info is around.
I believe the engines with PTD and top stop injectors used different engine brakes.
N= 4 valve head. T= turbo charged. C= aftercooled.
NTC 350's I recall had top stops but I also remember small cam ( PTD ) 400's.
