The driveline is completely enclosed which I have never seen before.

The driver is trying to put space between that stink and noise behind them plus the cries of the ones knowing they going to market is terrible.

I concede that it looks cool but imagine having to live with a truck that long and having the front for feet stick out from a row of trucks at every truckstop you park in.Maj. Jackhole Thanks this.

Years ago, that was the sign of the west coast trucks. In the East, we had heavier traffic and so the largecars ran mostly at night. After 9pm, the only people out on the highways were the LTL guys and the largecars. So the East Coast thing was chicken lights. If you had a largecar, you'd click on all your lights and hammer down triple digits down the bigroad. In the west, the cities and towns were spread farther apart, and there was lots less traffic. So, the west coast trucks would run in the daytime also. They were less into the chicken lights and more into the stretch frame and loud paintjobs.
The west coast trucks would only come as far east as i35. When I first saw those stretch frames, I thought they were silly too...until I started running northern Canada and the Territories. They run some really big wheelbase in the north, but for completely different reasons.
