Progressive.. they was the only insurance place that would do it. It's in PA. I know MD & NJ would run like $1400 < a month. I was saying they was crazy @ 1st. I started calling agency's and they was like actually that ain't bad..

Just starting out you probably have to go with central dispatch. Most other dispatch want you to have you insurance active for 3months. Everyone will have their own opinions about truck. I have ford F450. If you looking to get most out of it and use strictly to haul you may wanna look @ f550 or dodge 5500 chassis only.. I use my truck bed in off time to ride dirtbike etc so I wanted a bed. I went with kaufmen trailer in NC they can build your trailer or you can search around for used ones also

Greetings and congrats KEVINBJ! How’s the business going almost a year into it? How’s your Kaufman trailer and Truck holding up? Do you run just regional or are you long hauling over the road? Best of luck and success.

60k for a 450? You took it right up the ###. I hope you had lube. My 450 was 41k. Yes I had ifta. I did port work after 14 Months I stopped hauling cars. It was good money when I did it. I called several companies and small businesses for overload work who were looking for an independent hauler.

I can remembered oh so many years ago when starting my business. Yes it’s daunting for sure and I realize there are always many questions. And it seems like the same questions are asked over and over on this forum.

Perhaps whomever is the moderator here could pin a “start-up” post of what you need at a minimum for this business of hauling cars. Perhaps it would eliminate these ongoing standard questions and be more beneficial for a newbie? Then again, maybe that thread already exists?
