Okay, I am a company driver, pulling tankers regionally. Eleven years experience, always pulled tankers. Hazmat and twic card in the pocket. Lately I am feeling frustrated and "cornered". Hubby just started dispatch from the house, turning into broker later on. Maybe I am ready to venture into O/O but dually side, not 18 wheeler. Compared to company driving, what are the hurdles you encounter on a regular basis? Thanks.
What are the hurdles in hot-shot? Asking for a friend...

The only hurdle I have faced really is getting paid in a timely manner and dealing with brokers..... I refuse to use a factoring company so I am faced with companies who offer quick pay or the standard 30 day period. There always seems to be a problem getting payed and it's the same old excuse... Paperwork getting misplaced or being told they didn't receive a BOL and so on... Constantly chasing money earned it seems. And brokers trying to convince me to haul there load for change. But, with all that said I still love what I do. I too drove a Tanker for 12 plus years also and I like the hotshot side of things much better. Or maybe I really like just being my own boss

(Is a dually a must-have? I kind of like them, but man are they pricey!)
Never mind! After checking all photos, I get it.Last edited: Jun 8, 2018
