If my company does not have APU's on their trucks, or optimized idle, and has a very strict idle policy, How do I stay cool enough to sleep on hot summer days?
Even if the temp is only 85 degrees outside, the inside of a truck sitting on a paved truck stop lot is going to be much hotter.
What advice do some of you have on ways to stay cool during the hot summer days when you cannot idle the truck???
How to stay cool/Warm when you cannot idle the truck???

There are sleeping bags rated to 40 below. Everest climbers don't idle.. but then again they're crazy.
Heat sucks no matter how you slice it. -
Unless it gets down to near zero type temps,I will be OK. I have leftover sleeping gear from my Army days that I slept in on the open ground in Winter in Korea. So they will be more than enough for the inside of a sleeper.
But the heat is what concerns me.
How does one get any sleep inside the cab on a hot sunny day when the outside temp is in the 90's or higher? -
Ha... if it's me you idle... company policy or not.allniter, Wiseguywireless and chopper23966 Thank this. -
I've been begging to answer that question to, my future company has idle policies and now if your in CA no idle during a cold night?

I work for a Company that says "Idle" and the others can arrest me. I want this to see a Jury Trial. There are lawyers that would defend us.
zincman, lcfd15, PharmPhail and 1 other person Thank this. -
This always amazes me. Ask them at the company if they run the heat and lights when they are off work at home.Short Fuse EOD, allniter, zincman and 1 other person Thank this. -
I think we would win a jury trial, which is why it is set up to NEVER see one. It is an infraction and not entitled to a jury by peers. Pay the ticket or lose your license.
The other end is lose your job, try to sue and still never see a jury. -
If you refuse to shut down. and they take your licenses from you and you refuse to leave your truck. It will be a Crime Very soon.
