I wish you all well in your training, I hope you all pass and get out on the big road. For those of you who are having a hard time out on the big road i pray that your situations will change for the better especially in this weak economy and our traditional slow periods of Jan and Feb.

Keep in mind for all of you looking into driving, you have do to do what is best for your situation whether you can afford to go to a driving school or a company school. I have been to both. Central was the easiest and quickest route to get me back on the road. Central is not for everyone but it was a good choice because of the financial situation i was in.

I hope you all make wise decisions in whatever you do and the best of luck to you all. I decided to become a trainer again after i found out there is a need for good quality trainers out there and i wanted to teach new drivers to be a professional driver and not a steering wheel holder.

I talk to alot of new drivers and some of them were told to get in and drive and nothing else about the profession like how to back or fill out logs, how to deal with situations out on the road like bad weather driving dealing with customers or having to back into a dock at 2 am with 2 hrs of sleep after a 10 hr drive. but that's what i intend to do, to teach my students right while treating them with respect. Yeah JJ...great post. It's people like you that make people want to work for a certain company. Nowadays you hear so much bad stuff that its like the flip of a coin to what you do. Now I can't speak for everyone but as for me, I have 3-4 companies wanting me to work for them....I know that every co's different and it's a tough decision for me. I can't believe what recruiters say so it's up to what drivers can tell you...I trully believe that it's up to you and what you make happen with your life....you're either a follower or a leader...which one are you ?...:biggrin_255:

Any Central Refrigerated trainers come on here? Could you tell me how Central might refresh a former driver. I have not driven in about three years. I have 6 years safe 48 state OTR experience from 1992 through 2006 Thanks for any replies. I want to get back into long haul reefer and Central looks like best bet to me.

I heard today that Central doesn't take anyone without 6 months exp....It came from a recruiter after he said he was already in another school, and not theirs...:biggrin_25510: Is this their policy? I thought they hired student grad's?...

I'm not sure Nicnat, You would have to call the recruiting department and ask them.

They used to hire Student grads, But I think there Policy has changed and they have enough students coming from there own school that they don't hire from other schools.

    The Challenger Thanks this.
