Yeah, the professional counseling is to find a way to transition smoothly out of this prison craphole.

Where are you going to truck where you don't occasionally have to deal with a crappy load and/or shipper or receiver?

If truck driving was always sunshine and lollipops 365 days/yr, you'd be living in some sort of drug induced fantasy.

They were a dog poo company back in the late 90's when I started with them. I started my career with May in 99 and lasted 8 months. they did that crap back them, paying .19 per mile. I have never went to the places they sent me, nor had the wait times, nor sat as much with any company since. Get out of there. Hell, go to Schneider and keep building your experience.

I can deal with any crappy load when I feel I am paid well and respected by the trucking company. I have been with May for over a year and I don’t feel like $550.00 a week after taxes isn’t cutting it out anymore. I look at my paycheck and feel devastated that i went through a lot of crap and I only get paid that much? Plus they only do zip code to zip code and not actual miles. Ideally I need something like $1000.00 per week after taxes working full-time to give me a reason to deal with the crap.

Wherever you end up going, if you take company medical make sure you ask how much your costs are out of each paycheck BEFORE you change jobs. The employee costs can vary a lot between companies. If you're making more money per week but paying more for insurance, it can defeat the whole reason for changing jobs in the first place.

Take the load and look for another job while you are sitting there waiting. ;)

If you are taking their paycheck, give them your best until you leave. Find another job and leave, in that order.

I wouldn't get out of bed for 550 a week let alone live in a truck for that. You know the saying, new doors don't open till you shut the one behind you.

A Game answer. I do appreciate you bringing it out, Mr @tscottme. But OP is too far in the dumps for the A Game talk.

    Suicidal? Go get help.

"But Six, I am homeless and out of state..."

So? Continuing down your present course isnt good. Don't blame May, you did it. You are in the predicament you are in because of you. Stuck homeless without a pot to piss in and cant quit? Your fault. And your continuing to drive while suicidal...more bad choices. Youre batting .1000!

Keep working, and saving all you can. Start looking and filling out job apps immediately. Many companies will hire you based completely on your record, and you'll never have to show up anywhere for anything until orientation. Find your strength in knowing there are better days and bigger pay checks ahead, and not far ahead at all. Reflect on your mistakes, and correct your behavior.
