Last night outta the blue it started to make loud noises. Sounds like bolts in a cement mixer. Temp got up to 240ish. Pulled over immediately and let it cool down. Same thing bone cold today. I thinking bad bearings.

Noise+heat=$ At this point, opening it up would be step one. I out can try to wiggle the drive shaft to see if it is the pinion gear bearing, or jack up that axle and turn the wheels to hear/ feel something there, but it's all going to be something ugly inside. Drain the grease out and indentify the pieces of schrapnel that come out.

do like A5 said. cut open a clean dry gallon water jug. pull that plug and see the gold mine dump out.
Start looking for another 13sp now. -
Trans is toast. R&R.

This!!!! First thing to check. Sounds real bad if you leveling valve goes bad!
Odds are you got other issues though. -
Sorry guys, Update: Trans was bad. I drove 40 miles to loves to buy trans fluid. Only to find out it was full. Found a trans shop close by 1/2 mile. Next morning I drove to, well tried to drive there but boom it blew up. Had to be towed. Out the door $4786.81 plus 400 tow fee.
