how to refuse a load?

This is going to be an un-popular answer with some, maybe even you, but it needs to be said. First thing you need is Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He will help you work this out.

That being said, trucking is not 9-5. Not if you want to live in the truck. If you find a place you could go do what I do and that is be a yard jockey. I work m-F. 12 am to 10, but we have all shifts. Im in my own bed everyday. I make more money doing this than otr. It is nice.

Food delivery has a somewhat set schedule, but it is hard work and you have to unload yourself.

This can't be real. How can you not afford to do a motel during your reset? Also, there are millions of "rooms for rent" on Craigslist in any City all over the country for very little money.

 

don't recommend doing this very often but in your case ..... just lease a truck from a company then you have your truck and job and home can just leave trailer at any terminal and bobtail on your days off .......... I really don't know how your only making 500 a week it is quite apparent that mays don't want you around if that's all they are giving you. .. with a year experience you should be able to average 1000 a week even at a ahole company .. if you lease a truck you only have to get a motel room when truck is in the shop other than that it's home

 

When your in a dark place in your life, I really don't think that would help much..

That being said I am more than happy to take a 34 in my man cave.

 

Here's a question: would you still like to do OTR and live in the truck if you made more money AND dealt with customers that treat you with respect?

 

I came off the road for a bit many years ago.
I lined up a local gig and rented a room at a weekly motel till I got settled.
This was a long time ago and the cost of a weekly room was just slightly higher than the cost of a one bedroom apt.

I didn't last long as I went back on the road a short time later, lol.

New company new customer base and you can become completely rejuvenated.
