    Have you ever ran reefer?
Most dry loads will go in a reefer.
Some time they will say no because of volume needed for a load. Or the chutes on the ceiling may not be approved.

Thank you. Yes we started out in a reefer for two years. My thinking is that the extra 3% for a reefer trailer will more than pay for the extra cost of a reefer. I just don't want to be eliminated on to many loads because of it.

3% extra does seem like more than peanuts. But I don't work for landstar. The double broker of choice. Good luck.
    Many landstar posts on here.

There is a lot that is dry van only.

I'm just about to embark on a reefer research project.

Much is dry van only, and wood deck only though.

Thank you Dave, I would appreciate hearing what you find out. I know I can lease a reefer for $300-400 a month more than a dry van and at 75% all loads it should pay for itself. That is unless we find ourselves sitting a lot because we can't get loaded.

Even with your own dry van, you will be cutting yourself out of a great deal of pre loaded freight.

And the other thing goes with the pre loaded freight, is those are all direct customers. No muss, no fuss.

I trully would test the waters with a company van if I were you.

Then you will see first hand what I'm referring to. No big rush. Give it a little time.
