Sorry then if I sound too whiny and offends people here who have the tough-guy individual cowboy mentality. Thanks for your advice but they don’t work for me.
how to refuse a load?

Your approach so far hasn’t exactly been wildly successful, has it? $550 a week and homeless? This isn’t a cowboy mentality, it’s the mentality of surviving and bettering yourself, that’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. Only you can change it.
DSK333 Thanks this. -
Some of the advices look like a disguise to demean and ridicule me from the way they were written. What is this approach you are seeing me do?

Question. How do you live in your truck for any length of time and not have money saved?
As far as validating your feelings, if you're looking for somebody to pat you on the head and agree with your every thought and decision, you've come to the wrong place.
The world doesn't exist for the sole purpose of making you happy and secure. You have to find a way through the parts you don't like. That takes action and it takes some initiative.
You've been given some excellent advice in this thread. Grow up, quit whining, and take some of it. -
So, from what I understand: Either say no with no negotiations, do the crappy loads since I am on May’s paycheck (however crappy it is), or go into another company instead of wallowing in my depression and whining about it? Sounds good. It just feels good to be able to vent out my feelings and frustration even though truckers report may not be the best place to do so.
I’ll start looking around and see what I can do. I’m still scared of the uncertainties but at least I am doing something towards something better. I do put aside money for my savings but student debt ate the thousands of money I could have saved. Thankfully it is paid off.REO6205, shogun, driverdriver and 1 other person Thank this. -
I’ve been told that LTL is a good job with low 10% turnover rate. Anyone here have good pointers and who to stay away from?

Now you're talking! Where are you thinking of living? That's going to be a huge factor for local driving opportunities.
a-trucker123 and shogun Thank this. -
Now we are talking. Everyone is uncomfortable leaving a steady income and having certainty and stability. I have rarely left a job that I regretted leaving, maybe 1 in my life. LTL is a very good job once you get into it. Check out @Chinatown posts about companies and LTL threads on here. Good luck.a-trucker123 and Lepton1 Thank this.
